Deborah's Story
Deborah began drawing at a young age. She was surprised with an easel and paint set for Christmas when she was 8 years old. She painted as a hobby for many years.
Deborah attended William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ. She graduated with a degree in education and a minor in art. Throughout her teaching career, she incorporated art into her classroom lessons.
In the 1980s, Deborah really honed her skills and love for detail work. She joined John McDonald's local evening painting group. They called Deborah "The Purple Painter," because loved to add purple hues to her mountains, lakes, and skies.
She bought her first home in Wayne, New Jersey—it didn't have enough wall space for all of her paintings! Many times, guests would visit her home and want to buy paintings right off the wall. "Debbie Fast Paint," another one of her nicknames, came about because she could finish a copy of the "Happy Clown," one of her most popular selling paintings, in a matter of hours.
In the early 2000s, Deborah relocated to Forked River, New Jersey to raise her three daughters. She continued to paint as a hobby and do crafts with her children in their lakefront home.
Today, Deborah draws inspiration from Jersey Shore beaches, bays, and lakes. When she is not painting, she enjoys live music, playing piano, bike riding and swimming.
Now, Deborah is sharing her passion for art with the world!
